Ganbina sponsor stories
AMP Foundation

The AMP Foundation supports social entrepreneurs who are achieving positive results, particularly in the area of indigenous youth. They support Ganbina financially and also provide mentoring activities.

"We investigated a number of indigenous youth programs operating in Australia and chose Ganbina because they are true social entrepreneurs who are working at grass roots level and producing tangible, positive outcomes.

"You have only to meet young people on the Ganbina program to see success in action. They are so focused on learning as a stepping stone to a successful career pathway.

"Through working with Ganbina, our executive team also has a much better understanding of indigenous issues than we would have otherwise."

Helen Liondos, Manager, AMP Foundation

"Ganbina delivers good news and is illustrative of some of the best work that can be supported by philanthropy."
Genevieve Timmons, Philanthropic
Executive, Portland House Foundation

Social Ventures Australia (SVA)

SVA facilitates the work of outstanding social programs by linking providers such as Ganbina with financial and strategic partners & providing strategic planning and development advice.

"SVA works selectively with innovative community organisations which can prove they are making a real difference to people's lives. Ganbina is one of only eight partners we have selected out of 1,000 applications since 2004.

"As an organisation, Ganbina's disciplines and accountability really stand out and its reputation in the sector is credible and influential.

"Long term, we believe their concepts and approach have the potential to be replicated in other indigenous communities and we are currently working with them to facilitate that."

Michael Traill, Chief Executive, SVA

Berg Family Foundation

The Berg Family Foundation supports a wide range of programs including some which address indigenous disadvantage in Australia. It provides funds to run Ganbina's Leadership and Driver Skills Programs as well as mentoring programs.

"The Leadership Program is one that we are passionate about and we regularly meet these teenagers and introduce them to people from all walks of life to share their career experiences.

"The other project we support is the Drivers Program. It seems almost trivial for mainstream Australians, but it's really important for indigenous kids because they often don't get much opportunity to learn to drive properly or to get their driving hours up.

"Ganbina's work goes a long way to ensuring that indigenous youngsters get off to a good start and can carve out a successful future for themselves."

Tony Berg, Chairman, Berg Family Foundation

The R E Ross Trust

The R E Ross Trust sponsors programs which have a positive impact on the community's well being, with a special interest in indigenous activities. Its financial support of Ganbina's infrastructure enables us to perform efficiently and professionally.

"Ganbina has a very strong evidence base for achieving better outcomes for young aboriginal people in school and in the workforce, with a proven track record of placing indigenous people into private sector jobs.

"We have a very strong confidence in its ability to deliver - it does what it says it is going to do.

"In our experience, it is an excellent organisation with which to partner. The Ganbina Board and CEO are highly professional and committed and very much respect our role as a collaborator. They more than meet all our accountability requirements."
